The popular drama serial Mahabharat is one of the2 main Sanskrit epics of early India. The heroic is part of the (Hindu itihas) literally history and forms an significant part of Hinduism myths. It informs the tale of a dynastic move violently for the throne of Hastinapur, the kingdom ruled by the Kuru clan. The two branches of the family that participate in the struggle are the Kaurav and the Pandav. Although the Kaurav is the senior branch of the family, Duryodhan, the eldest Kaurav, is younger than Yudhisthira, the eldest Pandav. The seeds of the climactic battle of Kurukshetra were laid in the boyhood days of the Kauravas and Pandavas, when Shakuni the maternal uncle of the Kaurav poisoned the mind of Duryodhana.
